Working with Snippets for Re-usable Content in ConveYour

What are they?

Snippets are reusable chunks of HTML and plain text content. Snippets are a great way to...

  • Create saved replies to common questions that your contacts send into ConveYour via SMS or email.
  • Make responding to a ton of incoming text messages really easy.
  • Divide up the work load of writing email or text copy between multiple users.
  • Create frequently used salutations, signatures, and content.
  • Save formatted images that can be re-used

Where do I go?

From Settings choose Snippets

Snippet Folders

Start with a Snippet Folder. This is where you will store your reusable snippets such as:

  • email signatures
  • footers
  • FAQ replies
  • reusable copy

From Snippets select NEW FOLDER at top right.

name your folder, and click CREATE.

What are Conditions?

In some cases you might need to limit this content to only a certain group or type of contact. If so, you can use group conditions to help you better organize and sort your snippets - when you start using this tool as a regular part of your communications.

Editing and Removing Folders

The Folder Menu allows editing the name of your folder as well as delete. If you delete a folder you will delete the snippets contained in the folder too!

HTML vs Plain Text

Is the content intended to be viewed via email or text message?

The HTML/rich content version you author can be used later in just about any place lets you enter rich text like in emails, courses, and challenges.

The plain text version you author can be used very quickly when sending text messages to both individuals and groups. Be sure that text messages are SHORT, direct, and to-the-point. Nobody wants to scroll through a needlessly long text.

Add the Snippet to Your TEXT

Access snippets by selecting the "clipboard" icon from your messaging menu:

choose-a-snippet

Scroll through your snippet folder, find your snippet to insert it into your text, and click SEND.

Even easier... if you set up a shortcut word- simply type the forward slash / followed by your shortcut name.

Text Shortcuts!

Enter a shortcut keyword in your snippet's record. These shortcuts can be quickly injected into your SMS messages. They are great for quick replies to incoming messages or for sending a handful of people the same message really quickly. If you find yourself repeating the same introductions create a snippet, and add a shortcut you can remember like "hello" - you would then use a shortcut key: /hello each time you want to throw that snippet into the message.

Another Example... Let's say you often get asked for a quick breakdown on your product subscription levels.

Enter the quick breakdown in the Text Content box.

Then in the short cut box enter levels.

Now when sending a text message simply type /levels and press tab! Your text content will be injected into your SMS message body.

Adding Snippets to an individual EMAIL

From a contact's context menu - select Send Email:

send-email

At the lower menu within your email composition window, select the clipboard icon to bring up your snippet list:

use-snippet

Scroll to find your snippet from the list (or use the short cut!):

find-snippet

And the snippet is inserted into your message!

Keep in mind, the email snippet can also be used when composing an email scheduled to be sent out to a group.

Build Up Content

You can combine snippets to make bigger snippets!

So while snippets might sound like a small word. They are your basis for building out robust emails.
